Thank You for the quick response. Have you read Anton's post?
I was also concerned on whether or not I was able to reprogram her fob using Anton's way.

Happy Holidays

Dave

It should work fine for a 2003. Pulling the whole fascia off seems like a
big job but it's really pretty easy. Plan on it taking 1/2 hour the first
time you do it, but only 5-10 minutes after that. The hardest part is
finding the catches on all the connectors and getting them pulled apart from
the clock and stuff on the fascia. One tip: Make sure you plug all the
connectors back to the same items; I think you can cross connect the
emergency flashers with the dimmer or something like that which will make
  your lights work wonky.

Here is a guide I know of for taking the fascia off:

Good luck. And if you have any questions, let us know. Anton moved on and
drives a Mazda3 now, but he is still very knowledgeable about Elantras. I
think I can find a way to contact him if you need to ask him anything.

Hey everyone, first off I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Dave. I'm
located in Florida. Hope everyone here has had a happy holiday season.

On to the question.. My daughter owns a 2003 Elantra. Her FOB stopped
working. I replaced the battery to see if it would fix the problem, but
afterwards I found the FOB still did not work. All the research I have done
indicates that the reprogramming of the FOB needs to be done by the dealer.
In addition, I came across a TSB located @
http://www.hmaservice.com<about:blank> that states I would need a cable link
between the vehicle and the diagnostic scanner.

After this, I came across your web page and the post by Anton Tutter in
Garage section, page 4 that describes how to program a new FOB without going
  to the dealer.

Basically, my question is this: I'd like to make sure I can reprogram my old
FOB using this method. Also, I'd like to make sure this would work on an '03
Elantra. I would hate to waste time pulling the dash apart just to realize
  it can't be done.

  Dave
