[Elantra GT] '02 Hatchback will not open

[Fescue]

Just an update, you do not pull up on the lever, you push down as that 
mimics the handle.  I got it open by continually tapping/pushing/wiggling 
the rod down with just hand action and constant pressure with my legs from 
inside.  It lubed everything and closed it and it stuck again but just by 
repeatedly clicking the outside latch it gave way.  Something's out of 
alignment or something.  Thanks again.
