Tire Rack recommends the Dunlop Graspic DS-2

-2
Canadian Tire has the Michelin X-Ice that looks good, but I don't know what
sizes are available --

Active Green + Ross (used to be Sears Automotive? ... Didn't know that)
recommends -- Michelin Pilot Alpin --

But the price is not cheap -- Cdn$155.55. Tire Rack has a nice page on this
tire --

Finally, I think that any decent winter tire, with a tread pattern similar
to the good stuff above will be much better than any all seasons, especially
worn ones. :-)

I would try to get some cheap second hand rims, maybe even junkyard rims, of
the same size as the alloys, and use those with the winter tires. I agree,
they are a hassle to change the all season rubber to winter rubber on the
same rims. Besides, you put more wear and tear on the alloys, especially in
the Canadian winter conditions with salt on the roads.
