At that mileage, both the plugs and the wires should be replaced. I
would have done it at 60K myself.

For plugs, you have a choice. Iridium plugs will last the longest (up to
100K miles), but they're expensive. Platinum plugs (stock in most
Elantras) will last 30-60K and are a considerably cheaper. Copper plugs
(such as NGK V-Power) actually perform the best and cost the least
(under $2 each, retail), but they only last 15-30K miles.

As for wires, I've always had the best luck when I replaced factory
carbon-core wires with spiral-wound magnetic suppression wires. That's
why I recommended NGK wires over the stock parts; they are consistently
top quality and high performance at reasonable prices. They are well
respected on the various Hyundai forums.

If you want absolute top-of-the-line wires, Magnecor wires (p/n 47275,
7mm or 40275, 8mm) are arguably the best on the market, but they'll cost
you double the price of the stock wires, making them hard to justify.

There are a lot of "flashy-trashy" wires on the market that make all
kinds of wild, bogus claims and sell on hype and eye appeal. Avoid them
like the plague.

BTW, according to Hyundai Parts Online, the stock wires (p/n 27501) are
$51.17. NGK wires (stock #7692, p/n xx90) run ~$40 and are available
through most auto parts stores.
