It is easier yes, but will it not mean a headlamp realignment?

I guess if you have large hands it is difficult to replace the bulbs without 
taking the assembly out. My hands are medium sized and I managed to change 
bulbs on both the EGT and the Tib without removing the assembly.

One tip I can pass on -- pull off the connector while the bulb is still held 
in place by the wire clip. Then you should be able to undo the clip, and 
change the bulb all with one hand and by feel. YMMV, of course.
