Well,
Your tires did have a good review but were not rated well for snow.

The Kumhos were also rated well and that includes snow and are most likely 
less expensive, $41.00 at The Tire Rack.

I just drove 15 miles on I-95 and averaged 37 MPG, at 62MPH.

Not bad.
